DC & The Love is an acclaimed Chicago-based jazz-fusion band led by veteran bassist, composer, and educator Dennis Carroll. Originally formed on the porch steps of guitarist Lee Rothenberg's Roscoe Village apartment, the group serves as a dedicated vehicle for Carroll’s original compositions after his decades of performing with elite ensembles like the Bobby Broom Trio. The band has earned a stellar reputation as one of the most exciting acts on the modern scene, effortlessly blending jazz, rock, folk, and blues into a melody-driven, genre-defying sound complete with poignant lyricism.

The core lineup features Dennis Carroll on bass, Lee Rothenberg on guitar, Joey Skoch on keyboards, and Neil Hemphill or Ben Esposito on drums, frequently showcasing prominent guest artists like alto saxophonist Greg Ward. Together, they have toured prestigious national venues such as San Francisco's Black Cat, headlined the Chicago Jazz Festival, and released an EP titled Go Up. When they aren't preparing for the release of their debut full-length studio album slated for summer 2027, they can be found performing energetic live sets at classic Chicagoland music staples like FitzGerald's and Martyrs'.
